Shows

Show volunteers assist at performances and events. Examples of show volunteer functions include ushering, taking tickets, distributing will-call tickets, attending the elevator, and greeting guests. Volunteers are trained by our Front-of-House Manager and Volunteer Coordinator. If you enjoy working with the public and attending live performances, this is a great volunteer opportunity. It’s a fun and fast-paced environment!

Apt. 6 Resale & Consignment Shop

The Apt. 6 resale shop at 217 South Main is located one door north of the Opera House. Aside from consignments, donated merchandise is sold and 100% of the proceeds from those sales go to the Opera House’s general fund to help with operating costs. Volunteers are needed to sort inventory, assist with pricing, work the register, and help customers. While serving the Opera House, the store has become a social gathering place for its volunteers and customers – where many have developed meaningful friendships.

Tour Guide

Tour guides conduct tours of the Opera House and create excitement in this grand old building by sharing its history and folklore. Tours are regularly provided for sightseeing excursions, scouts, grade school students, All School’s Day visitors, convention attendees, and other groups. If you enjoy history, and are particularly interested in the history of the Opera House, this would make a great volunteer choice.
